„Superheroina cura fina“ fruity-loving girl with clear goals in a whirl!

"Superheroina cura fina" is a Belgrade design brand that has been thriving for 10 years. Unique and entirely her own, renowned in the world of design and illustration, architect, designer, and artist - Tatjana Kuburović.

In the creative kitchen of SUPER T DESIGN studio, Tatjana, as the Superheroine, transforms illustrations into stories. These stories give birth to patterns and design solutions ready for application on various materials, in two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms: trinkets and treasures, toys, raincoats, dresses, fashion accessories, glasses, mugs, soft furniture... These product lines embody wit, lightness, and the special power to make every rainy day turn into a smile. "Superheroina" can free you from nightmares, awaken you, and take you on a journey through cities like Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Prague, New York, Novi Sad, London, Paris, Vranje, Tokyo... because products from Superheroine's production can be found worldwide.

It all started 10 years ago.

"Once upon a time, long ago, while contemplating how a new project I wanted to embark on would look like, I came to the conclusion that it undoubtedly requires supernatural powers to be realized, and that while creating it, you can be nothing but a Superheroine. 'Fine Girl' emerged from the need to more precisely define the character of the Superheroine, believing that delicacy - gentleness - is necessary while following and winding the threads of creation into a more beautiful creative ball of objects and themes, to minimize any entanglement in the process. I like to believe that there can never be enough Superheroes and Superheroines in the world, and that we can still add some new form to it. There is always room for a new color and cheerfulness, delicacy. It's not enough to be just a Superheroine; you should do it as a diligent, true Fine Girl'," Tatjana shares.

The First Appearance

In September 1993, Tatjana was given the opportunity to showcase her talent. At the invitation of the legendary Miomir Grujić Fleka, she presented her work at the "Strip Fashion Show" runway. At that time, Tanja painted and drew on women's stockings, ties, and underwear, using them as canvases. "Each piece on which I intervened was unique. They were worn at the show by significant girls to me, creators, public figures with strong character and sensitivity," Tanja emphasizes.

I'm just playing...

"Superheroine's world is full of unexpected and seemingly illogical things. In it, cockroaches are colorful, sharks are not that scary, a pig is just a pig - the dearest, and there are always cities, everywhere, in color, under the sun and in the dark. I am happy to move forward surrounded by wonderful people, with whom I create and for whom I create, who rejoice in Superheroine's achievements and the world slowly being created in her kitchen. I am happy that everything I wished for is slowly coming true. Life is a journey, a duration, and a voyage, and dreams lead us on that journey. Courage always pushes us one step forward. The knowledge and skills we master turn us into mature individuals capable of realizing our dreams. On that journey, you can always continue to play while being grown-up, mature, aware, and awake."

Tatjana makes her unique raincoats from taffeta, a recyclable material resistant to water and tearing.

"Superheroina loves to do whatever she feels like doing, playing with materials, adding to her repertoire everything she fancies, everything she lacks in the wardrobe, on the shelf, in the bag, in life: a notebook to write, a cup to enjoy her favorite drink while lounging in soft armchairs in the shape of monsters and tapping away, a nightgown in which she can spend the whole day - sleeping and daydreaming. I have just presented the collection for sleeping and dreaming - Nightmare-free nightgowns, and optionally dresses," Tanja announces.

Besides designing clothing, Tanja enjoys "playing" by creating lines of souvenirs illustrated with motifs from stories that she either invents herself or creates in collaboration with friends. In this field, she often collaborates with Dubravka Petrović.

"Gift is my great love. Part of Dubravka's and my project OFF BEOGRAD lives through two collections: Beogradsko kuče luče and Beogradska mačka i tačka, which can be found in BEOIZLOG of the Cultural Center of Belgrade. These are stories about OFF Belgraders, Belgrade's indigenous species, beloved and unloved, abandoned and mistreated, fed, adored, those who are our concern, our hope, little neighbors, fellow citizens."

Superheroina always has a plan!

"Superheroina" plans to become a virtual brand this year. Tanja hopes that by autumn, the Superheroina cura fina WEB SHOP should be up and running. Until then, Superheroina continues to exist through POPUP stores in Belgrade and in a few other cities in Europe.

"During these appearances, both in Serbia and in the neighborhood - throughout the region and Europe, 'Superheroina' collaborates with other designers through sales exhibitions, design weeks, panels..."

And what does Tanja do when she's not creating?

"I enjoy socializing, 'devouring' books and movies, listening to music, traveling, meditating, practicing yoga, cooking, inventing recipes, hugging dogs, cats, birds. Growing plants, daydreaming, gazing into the distance, exploring the planet."

When young designers ask her for advice, she says:

"Always be ready to move forward or start at all. Understand that you are on a journey and never stop playing. Believe in the power of the world you create. Be realistic, hardworking, and dedicated. Before and after everything, be persistent, patient, and brave! There is always room for freshness and innovation, and the market and competition can be seen as opportunities. Arm yourself with courage, knowledge, and skills, and you will see that suddenly doors and windows full of possibilities open up."
