Knight's Tournament in Lazarev Grad | Tourist Calendar of Serbia

Knight's Tournament in Lazar's City is a traditional three-day event organized by the City of Kruševac and the local tourist organization, held every year before Vidovdan (St. Vitus Day) within the walls of the Archaeological Park of Lazar's City in Kruševac.

The aim of the event is to preserve the memory of the medieval era and life at the court of Prince Lazar, during the time when Kruševac was the capital of Serbia.

In addition to the knight's tournament, the three-day program includes an exhibition of souvenirs and traditional crafts, a knight's children's carnival, and a medieval wedding in the Lazarica Church.

At the Knight's Tournament, numerous knightly associations from Serbia and abroad symbolically clash lances in specially organized archery tournaments and knightly combat displays.

For the youngest visitors, organizers prepare knight's children's workshops and competitions, while associations and independent artists present souvenirs and products from traditional crafts workshops.

During the festival's grand opening on the first day, knights often perform an honorary parade in front of the audience, while the musical part of the festival is diverse, rich, and tailored to the medieval atmosphere of Lazar's City.

The central event of the festival is the "Medieval Wedding in Lazarica Church," which takes place on the last day of the festival. Accompanied by knights and ladies, following medieval church customs, feast, and music, couples experience their fairytale wedding.

On the same day, in the evening hours, the event "Knight's Children's Carnival" traditionally marks the closing of the festival.
