Bypass Opened - Around Čačak in 10 Minutes

The section of the E763 highway, known as "Miloš Veliki," between Preljina and the village of Pakovraće, also known as the bypass around Čačak, was opened to traffic on Saturday, January 30th.

This relatively short section of the highway is 11.5 kilometers long, but its significance is expected to be significantly greater. Namely, with the opening of this new section, all freight and transit traffic will be redirected from the Čačak-Užice main road to the "Miloš Veliki" highway. This is expected to greatly reduce the traditional traffic congestion in the Čačak area during the tourist season and on weekends.

It will now take only about 10 minutes to pass around Čačak using the newly constructed section, which is significantly less time compared to before.

The bypass around Čačak represents only one segment of the Preljina-Požega section, but it is a strategically important route that is intended to connect Belgrade with the planned highways to Sarajevo and Podgorica in the future.

Along the short but technically demanding route of the highway, there is one tunnel (near the village of Trbušani), ten bridges, and four overpasses, as well as a toll station at the traffic interchange near the village of Pakovraće, where the section ends.

The toll fee remains unchanged for now, amounting to 430 dinars.
